Lobule IV
- Location: Top portion of the cerebellum, focused around the midline
- Description: It can first be identified in the midsagittal slice, as the lobule to the left (inwards) of the top most vertical fissure.
- It is bounded on one side by lobule III. On the other the boundary is the most prominent fissure between llobule III and the primary fissure.
Figure 1:I choose 3 screen shots of one particularily difficult section. The boundary between lobules 4 and 5 on the left was straightforward but there was trouble on the right. The sequence was carefully delineated to create a gradual change as the slices progress.
"Figure 2:The fissure chosen was the widest at the center of the saggital view but including one additional branch in 4 at the center would also have been acceptable.
Figure 3:The final of the sequence.
Figure 4:The boundary between lobules V and VI is very unclear throughout this scan and was estimated using experience.
Figure 5:The Branch indicated seems to switch from lobule V to lobule VI when moving from the center to the edge of the scan. In this case it was assigned by considering the center position to be more important.
Figure 6:This is a clear boundary between IV and V in the axial view.
