Future Seminars

“Nonlinear Regression Models”

Summer Seminar Series: Statistics without the Agonizing Pain (WAP Series)
Time/Location: Friday, August 7, 2009 – 3 pm – 4 pm Clark Hall 314
Speaker: Brian Caffo, Department of Biostatistics, Bloomberg

Previous Seminars

“Mixed Effects Models in MRI Research”

Summer Seminar Series: Statistics without the Agonizing Pain (WAP Series)
Time/Location: Friday, July 17, 2009 – 3 pm – 4 pm Clark Hall 314
Speaker: Yang An, National Institute on Aging - Intramural Research Program Notes

“Introduction to Statistical Analysis with R”

Summer Seminar Series: Statistics without the Agonizing Pain (WAP Series)
Time/Location: Friday, June 16, 2009 – 3 pm – 4 pm Clark Hall 314
Speaker: Youngser Park, Center for Image Science, JHU
Contact: youngser@jhu.edu
Please join us for the second tutorial seminar series on statistical analysis. Youngser will provide tutorial overview on using the R statistical package for statistical analysis. Bring your laptop with R installed and follow along! Link to R: http://www.r-project.org/ Notes

“Discussion on Model Selection for Neuroscience Research”

Summer Seminar Series: Statistics without the Agonizing Pain (WAP Series)
Time/Location: Friday, June 19, 2009 – 3 pm – 4 pm Clark Hall 314
Speaker: Daniel Q. Naiman, Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, JHU
Please join us for the first in our tutorial seminar series on statistical analysis. Our first section, hosted by Dr. Dan Naiman, will provide an informal discussion on statistical model selection. Dr. Naiman will lead a discussion on how one might quantitatively (and qualitatively) choose between possible models. Questions are welcome from both supervised and fully-automatic perspectives.
