Lobule IX

• Location: Lowest portion of the cerebellum in the midsagittal
• Description: First identification can be made in the midsagittal as the region of the cerebellum that seems to be detached from the main branch, after initial identification, the axial view is best for further delineation
• Best view(s) for delineation: Axial/ Coronal/ Sagittal
• It is fastest to delineate in the Coronal view because here it is a straight line instead of a circle.

  Figure 1 : This is a good place to begin delineating lobule IX and the edge of the ear can be seen. This is not allways the case.

  Figure 2 : Sometimes the lobules 9 in each hemisphere overlap as seen but they are not to be labeled in this manner.

  Figure 3 : In this scan lobule 9 is especially large.
